September 08 2017- THE SA government has launched a Zimbabwe Exemption Permit, which expires in 20121, to replace ZSP, says Minister of Home Affairs Hlengiwe Mkhize.
Mkhize says applications for this new permit, will start from next week on the 15 th of September to the end of November this year.
Applications will cost R1 000 for the permit, which will expire on 31 December 2021, and will come into effect in January 2018.
The conditions of the new permit are pretty much the same as ZSP where applicants will be required to provide proof of employment, study or business.
“The permit is not extendable or renewable and will not entitle the holder of permanent residency, no matter how long they have been in the republic,” says Mkhize adding that ZEP holders will be allowed to travel with their application receipt until their new permit is out.
