June 03 2017 – AFTER a seven month break from broadcasting on and Power FM in radio and TV personality ,Timothy “Timtang ” Hogo is back on the airwaves , this time on drive time radio on a SA based African radio station.
In his new slot, Hogo is expected to add some “flavour” with new features that speak to humour, current affairs, lifestyle, human development and progress, for the Jozi based 1873 FM radio station.
The show will be tapping into into what drives people to achieve their dreams and also to raise funds for the contestants that were scouted by Zicopa to represent Zimbabwe in the World Championship of Performing Arts , an Arts Olympics to be held in Hollywood California next month.
But Hogo says he didn’t see this coming. “It was quite a surprise for me considering that I’ never applied for this job. It was not even on my list of objectives anytime soon,” he says expressing his gratitude to both Zicopa and 1873FM for the opportunity.
“My mind was fixated on doing general radio shows really , since I haven’t done this in a while , and now here I am thinking how I can grow that time slot. But afternoon drive time is the kind of slot that every radio personality works towards doing,” says Hogo who is also a successful male model, who has made waves on New York’s catwalks.
No doubt that Hogo has a big responsibility on this show seeing that it’s a promotional show.
“I’m aware of the magnitude of the slot, but in the end, radio is radio, whether you’re on at midnight or during the day,” he adds.
To prepare himself for this slot, which has more than a million listeners, Hogo says he has taken time to understand its objectives.
“I have taken time to understand the main aim and objectives of the show Road To Hollywood and our programming evolves around that” he says adding that he is also prepared for any criticism.
“People will always criticise. If I was worried about critics the whole time, I wouldn’t have nine years in broadcasting experience to under my belt. For everything else, listeners must tune in and get a feel based on what they hear.”
The multi award winning model Hogo said he will be broadcasting the show on radio from the USA every Monday’s , Wednesday and Friday with his co-host Ronnie “Sauceman Rondo” Macheme.
The 24 year old started broadcasting at the tender age of 14 as a TV presenter .
